What is included?

What data do you analyze?

We analyze the SEC 10-K, 10-Q, and Insider Trading data. We download this data
whenever the SEC makes it available and do an analysis daily.

What else would you need to do on top of this data?

This data only gives you the financials that Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger
look at. There are additional vectors such as analyzing management, moats and
other qualitative analysis that is up to you.

Will this make me rich?

This is just a tool to help start your exploration. You will need to do more
before deciding whether you should invest in a company. As a value investor
our goals are to buy comparatively cheap stocks with good economic moats and
hold them for the long term. This requires more analysis than an excel sheet
will provide.

Tenets of the Warren Buffett Way

Business Tenets

Is the business simple and understandable?
Does the business have a consistent operating history?
Does the business have favorable long-term prospects?

Management Tenets

Is management rational?
Is management candid with its shareholders?
Does management resist the institutional imperative?

Financial Tenets

Focus on return on equity, not earnings per share.
Calculate “owner earnings.”
Look for companies with high profit margins.
For every dollar retained, make sure the company has created at least one dollar of market value.

Market Tenets

What is the value of the business?
Can the business be purchased at a significant discount to its value?
